Introverted Sensing (Si): Blue may not seem as traditional as most Si-doms, but Si is built on memories, experiences, and what it knows. And what Blue knows is a home full of psychics. Magic and ley lines are nothing new to her. These experiences shaped her: she knows she will upset Noah’s parents at the funeral, expects Ronan reaction to her family because of his religion, doesn’t make friends with people at school because she knows they won’t understand. She trusts her experiences and the previously earned wisdom of her mother and aunts. She can be set in her ways and narrow minded. “Blue had developed her two rules: One stay away from boys, because they were trouble. And two, stay away from Aglionby boys, because they were bastards.” That is, until she meets some who weren’t, and then her perception changes. Blue is most herself among the familiar and is comforted by home.
Extroverted Feeling (Fe): Blue is quickly and objectively able to understand the boys: Gansey is the leader; there are different sides to him. Adam isn’t rich. She wants Ronan’s approval because he is hard to please. In fact, she cares about what most people think of her. She is aware of how she doesn’t fit in and longs to be fully a part of their group. She feels the need to talk through her emotions, at first to her mother or Persephone and later more with Gansey. “Blue was like Gansey [Fe-aux] in that she wanted him [Adamt, Fi-user] to explain himself. What do you want Adam? What do you need Adam” She isn’t always polite, she can actually be quite sharp, but she is always aware of the effect she has on others. She hates to hurt people she cares about, and easily understands what is playful and teasing and what are the lines she shouldn’t cross. “The genuine expressive robbed all the glee out of using his [Gansey’s] real name.”
Introverted Thinking (Ti): Blue is sensible (Si/Ti). She rarely acts recklessly or illogically. Though she is emotional, she is balanced, her emotions don’t rule her. She questions and analyzes her emotions and is careful of how they will play out. Her logic is sound, but not always based in facts. She asks questions. She tries to reason things out and find multiple ways out of problems.
Extroverted Intuition (Ne): Blue is drawn to new ideas, new experiences. To be different and exciting and eccentric. “So she truly was sensible. This was distressing. She felt like she’d done so much to appear as eccentric as possible, and still, when it came down to it, she was sensible.” He Ne is fairly healthy, making her creative and open to new ideas, but it’s also cautious. Her cautiousness prevents her from acting rashly. She prefers to play it safe (not kissing anyone). The future is often a source of fear or anxiety for her.
